Cardea and Limetree drew 4-4 in an entertaining game at Bushfield.

Cardea FC (4-2-3-1): Gavin Sampson; Ryan Moore, Stuart Yaxley (c), Dale Moore, Andrew James; Anton Fountain, Michael Williams; Igor Fonseca, Aaron Yeoman, Kynan Bereznyckyj; Dom Goymour. Subs: Daniel Robinson.

Late drop outs saw Robinson called up from the Reserves, Fonseca drafted in to make his debut and Fountain recalled after an outfield playing absence of 3 years!

The away team opened the scoring with a well struck free kick midway through the half.

But Cardea hit back on the half hour mark, Yeoman sent a quick free kick into the box and Goymour took the ball down well and drilled home the equaliser.

Cardea turned the game on it's head as half time approached. Ryan Moore sent a long throw into the box, Yaxley flicked the ball on and Fountain struck an unstoppable half volley into the net - a shot he definitely put all of his weight behind.

Cardea brought on Robinson at half time and he scored with his first touch. Bereznyckyj played the ball forward and Robinson beat the defenders to the ball and smashed it into the top corner to make it 3-1.

Limetree threw everything at the Cardea goal and the defence and midfield worked extremely hard to deny many goal scoring opportunities.

Eventually the heavy pressure told and Limetree scored the two goals they needed to draw the game level.

Cardea were still dangerous on the counter attack though and they scored a well worked goal to regain the lead. James played the ball inside to Yeoman who found Goymour on the right and he played a great ball across the box for Fonseca to score on his debut from an onside position.

Limetree again went in search of an equaliser and found it with a shot from the edge of the area which went through a crowded box and found the corner.

It finished 4-4 and after the match assistant manager Kev Webster said: "I'm very pleased with how we conducted ourselves today, up against it from the off and in the first half we allowed them only shots from distance. We scored some good goals on the counter and full deserved to get a result.

"We were unlucky not to hang on but credit to them and some of their quality did show towards the end. A make shift side with Anton, Igor and Robbo coming into the squad late last night we all should be pleased with how we played. Big thanks to lads and well done on all 3 of the late call ups bagging a goal each. Anton was man of the match for me, for a player to miss so much football and come in to give that display needs a lot of credit."

Cardea are scheduled to play Bretton North End next Sunday at Bretton Park.
