Cardea Ladies 3 v 2 Wisbech St Mary Ladies
The game started off well with both teams having extended warm up sessions due to a late kick off because of the ref being late! Cardea created the better of the chances in the first half with both teams struggling to make the most of their chances! WSM slowly grow into the game and started to put pressure onto the Cardea back line as the half came to a close!

Cardea were forced into an early substitution with Danni King coming off injured and being replaced by Naomi Hall. WSM took the lead with about 10 minutes gone as they looked to get a hold of the game! This sprung Cardea into life who grow in confidence with each attack, forcing WSM goalkeeper to pull off some great saves to deny Cardea and keep the score at 1-0! Gina Stevenson came on up front on the 67th minute with Cardea pushing hard for an equaliser, which came with a fantastic Laura Rudd strike from just outside the box!
Captain Laura Rudd added a second a few minutes later after a fantastic piece of play by Cardea, goalkeeper Carlie Rudd passed the ball to Nic, who Meg’d 4 players, then passed the ball through to Laura Rudd on the right, Who then rainbow flicked 2 players and scored on the volley.
Laura then got her hat trick and Cardea's third after Jessica O'Sullivan expertly laid the ball into her path for her to slot home! The last 5 minutes tested the nerves of manager Daniel Gibbs after a defensive mix up allowed WSM to pull one back! With both managers sending out as much encouragement as humanly possible from the sidelines WSM stepped up their game and pushed Cardea to defend deep!
Manager Daniel Gibbs said after the game: I couldn't be prouder of this group of players! In my opinion we were the better side and deserved the win today! We played some fantastic football when we had the ball and defended strongly with out it! Well done to everyone who played today!
