Cardea easily overcame bottom of the league club Feeder on Saturday after a first half hat-trick from striker Mike Dandrilli all but killed off the game.

Cardea FC (3-4-1-2): James Wilson; Daniel Baldwin, Tom Rimes, Michael Williams; Antonio Esposito, Ash Baldwin, Aaron Yeoman, Sam Cope; Kieran Hart; Mike Dandrilli, Thomas Klinkovics. Subs: Martin Holyoak, Jake Falco, Kyl Ramsey, John Reddell.

Cardea went in to the game on the back of a win last time out and were challenged by the management to get a goal inside the first 10 minutes and to be ruthless.

The management got what they wanted when top scorer Thomas Klinkovics played in strike partner Dandrilli inside 4 minutes to open the scoring.

Cardea and Dandrilli added a second 4 minutes later after a good bit of Cardea pressure off the ball caused a terrible mix up at the back, leaving a tap in to an open goal for the grateful Cardea man who has been out of luck for most of the season.

The rest of the first half was wide open with Cardea making a number of chances and getting in to some great areas without really being clinical enough. Feeders best chance of the half fell to striker Markland who took too long and was excellently tackled by Michael Williams who recovered fantastically. It was a tackle the defender had to get right as he was the last man.

Cardea were forced into an early substitution as half time approached with attacker Kieran Hart feeling unwell. Hart was replaced by captain John Reddell in a move that saw Ash Baldwin move further forward.

The change instantly had an effect with Baldwin finding Dandrilli in plenty of space and the striker confidently lobbed the keeper who was in no mans land to score his 3rd of the game.

HT: Feeder FC 0-3 Cardea FC

At half time, Cardea changed shape and shuffled things around in an attempt to stop the game becoming end to end with the aim of catching Feeder on the break.

Feeder came out slightly improved and managed to pull a goal back when Aaron Yeoman, who missed a penalty last game, gave one away for handball. The midfielder was judged to have leaned towards the ball as it fell from the air. The penalty was well taken into the bottom corner.

This however proved to be the only real attack that feeder could put together and Cardea themselves were awarded a penalty when Klinkovics was fouled. The striker believing it was “the easiest penalty he has ever won”. Ash Baldwin excellently finished from 9 yards (yes 9, as the referee couldn’t find the spot) to restore the 3 goal lead.

Cardea then handed new signings Kyl Ramsey and Martin Holyoak debuts as things were again shuffled around. The game could and should have had more goals and only the crossbar could stop Dandrilli from adding a fourth after a great attacking move out wide.

FT: Feeder FC 1-4 Cardea FC

MOTM went to striker Mike Dandrilli who found himself back amongst the goals. I believe this is the first time the MOTM award has gone to the same person in successive weeks.

Next up for Cardea first team is an away trip to Spalding while the reserves are in cup action away at Glinton.
