Cardea overcame a stubborn Atletico LP 4-1 to reach successive Hunts Cup finals.

Atletico started the better of the two teams and James Wilson in the Cardea goal produced 3 great saves in the opening 10 minutes to keep the score level.

In Cardea's first venture into the opposition penalty box Charlie Bosett won a spot kick, converted into the bottom corner by Ian King.

Atletico hit straight back with an effort from the edge of the area but Cardea went in ahead at half time after Martyn Fox smashed home a Jae Mead cut back.

After the break Cardea had more control of the game with a strong defensive performance.

The home side added a 3rd as Dylan Martin continued his great scoring form when he found the net back of the net after a goalmouth scramble.

The win was sealed in the 90th minute when a defensive clearance from Martin was misjudged by the Atletico centre back and Ed Sakovich ran through and finished past the keeper.

A tough but deserved win for the Sunday Firsts to keep us on track to defend the cup we earned last season.

Details of the final will be released by Hunts FA soon.
